Our Mission
Radical Forge is a UK-based developer that has provided co-development services on a range of AAA and indie titles. In 2021 the company created their first original IP, 'Bright Paw', which was published on PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One/Series S/X, Google and iOS by Rogue Games. We are currently working on our newest IP, Southfield, which you can look forward to playing soon!!

Your Mission
Manage the day to day running of the IT infrastructure in the studio, maintaining and innovating the systems we use.
Manage software and hardware procurement and deployment for the current stage of the business.
Support the development teams on a day to day basis.
Assist the engineering team where required with infrastructure, sourcing hardware and software from vendors, monitoring networks and systems.
Identify areas of improvement and make recommendations to the Senior Leadership team on IT security and policy changes.
Thoughtfully plan out system changes, identifying the 5W’s:
Who’s impacted
What other systems are impacted/ what changes need to occur
Where do the changes need to occur
When did the changes need to occur by?
Why do these changes need to occur
Manage departmental resources in terms of budgets and KPI Targets
Work with other members of the IT/ DevOps / Engineering (where applicable) to help in the delivery of core services / game Products.
Deliver proposals to key stakeholders that have been developed.
Conducting annual audit reviews of company assets and maintaining detailed records of all assets and who they are assigned to.
Planning and implementing projects as required by the business.
Ensuring that systems and networks operate at peak efficiency.
Maintain systems security and stability.
Encouraging organisational change efforts by encouraging the benefits of digital transformation, promoting user adoption, and addressing any resistance or challenges.
Performing any software, equipment upgrades, or incident resolution out of hours to avoid unnecessary disruption to business activities.
Development and implementation of a disaster recovery plan for the business.
Knowledge & Skills Summary
Knowledge
Windows 11 support is critical - helping our team resolve issues with their day-to-day work. MacOS and Linux desktop support are a bonus.
Linux server support is an absolute must, a lot of our core infrastructure runs on Linux servers so you must know how to quickly and accurately resolve any issues our servers may be experiencing.
Server setup and configuration - both Windows and Linux are required on a regular basis as development work, and projects change often, and each project may need its own full pipeline.
System security knowledge is absolutely essential not only to Radical Forge but our entire industry. You must be proficient in securing networks and infrastructure, and ready to adapt and change security policies to combat an ever-evolving threat landscape
Be able to navigate around Virtualisation technology, and show experience with containerisation.
Knowledge of scripting and automation would be a plus - the likes of Ansible and Terraform in particular.
Experience working with development pipelines.
A solid understanding of the Software Delivery Life Cycle would be very useful to the ideal candidate, along with prior support experience with development backend systems such as Git, Perforce, Subversion and TeamCity.

Monitoring industry trends
This role is hybrid, with a minimum of 2 days per week in the Manchester office. Candidates must be within a 1-hour commute of central Manchester.
Ideally, candidates will have a driving license and access to a vehicle, but this is not essential for the role.
We will require all applicants to have a pre-existing right to work in the UK.
