INTRODUCING RAD FORGE

Back in 2017 game makers Bruce Slater and Freddie Babord were ready to do something new. They realised there was powerful potential in taking an alternative approach to building and running a studio, where triple-A quality and ambition didn’t need to be separated from values of kindness, creativity, playfulness and authenticity. With that in mind, they decided to build Radical Forge, a creative safe haven that understands what a team needs to thrive.

The result? A studio with committed resilience to bullshit, a progressive attitude to games and the wider world, and a healthy disregard for the stale conventions of the industry’s past.

We’re all equals here. We’re not about separating senior leadership from frontline staff. We’re not about status or playing the rules. We’re not about putting on a front or pretending to be something we’re not. Building unforgettable gaming moments motivates us. Treating our team with kindness and generosity is an instinct and one that’s close to fucking essential to making brilliant, successful games.

And that’s exactly what we do. Our team of over 70 has constantly smashed it on our own games and codevelopment projects. And we aren’t going anywhere anytime soon!

Speaking of support, we’ve partnered with the mighty Safe in Our World to continuously educate our understanding of mental health so we can better serve our team. We also have trained mental health first aiders throughout the studio, and provide private healthcare that includes access to therapy and GPs.

LOCATION

We sure as shit aren’t based in Beverly Hills… and we don’t care one bit. We’d feel awkward there anyway. And maybe get thrown out. Middlesbrough is our home; its university Teeside is where our founders studied and honed their craft. And whether you’re looking for live music, art, comedy, culture or sport, you’ll find it here. We’re surrounded by banging countryside, the sea is close, and we love to get amongst it. But – if you really need to – the train will have you in Newcastle, York, or even London in no time at all.

And we’re not corporate dinosaurs that harp on about how everyone has to always be in the office because that’s how it’s always been. The world’s moved on. We’re properly, proudly flexible when it comes to options like remote working and flexible hours, because we know work-life balance and productivity are two sides of the same coin.

  • Unfortunately, we are unable to offer work experience. University placements are organised with the host university directly and advertised on the relevant university portals.

    We also do not accept any unsolicited requests from 3rd party recruitment agencies.
