Our Mission

Radical Forge is a Middlesborough, UK-based developer that has provided co-development services on a range of AAA and indie titles. In 2021 the company created their first original IP, 'Brightpaw', which was published on PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One/Series S/X, Google and iOS by Rogue Games.

Since its beginnings in 2017, the company has grown to over 70 incredibly talented, collaborative, and creative individuals. We are the sum of our skills, passion, and, most of all, our people. Your Mission 

•Work with the Lead Combat Designer developing an arsenal of weapons with varied gameplay roles, armor with fun gameplay properties, and compelling player abilities.
•Look for ways to create unique and compelling weapons that have not been seen before.
•Design, create, and maintain documentation for gameplay systems and mechanics associated with combat gear.
•Collaborate with enemy designers to build fun strategic play into combat gear.
•Work with progression designers on how players can invest in their combat gear.
•Work with concept artists to visualize combat gear and storyboard its behavior.
•Maintain gear tuning over the life of the product.
•Assemble unit test levels and act as liaison between level design and systems design.
•Mentor other designers who are interested in learning more about combat gear.

Ideal Applicant 

•Deeply creative with a great sense of what makes gameplay fun
•Comfortable with diving into the engine and prototyping gameplay
•Expert understanding of tuning weapons and armor
•Expert understanding of combat mechanics and enemy design
•Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-discipline development environment
•Comfortable with a development schedule that is playtest-driven and focused on iteration and polish
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English required
•Working knowledge of scripting or programming

This role can be based in office or fully remote. 

We will require all applicants to have a pre-existing right to work in the UK/EU.
